Burn The World

by Keyton

/

about

Have you ever felt your chest tighten when hearing about a lost love? "Burn The World" captures the feeling of angst and acceptance with heated vocal performance, thick distorted guitars, and spacious choruses. After growing an emo following for 15 years, Keyton is decisively exploring outside a confine of moody acoustic delivery. This 2023 Lost Records release features drummer Atom Willard (Angels and Airwaves, The Offspring, Rocket From The Crypt), bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Jack White), and Canadian Singer/Songwriter Billy Pettinger.

lyrics

Fill that empty space with memories that fit
Something happy but still worse off than you could admit
You made your point, failed our plans,
negotiations caved to your demand

I'm getting anxious thinking about the love we never had
And now we never will
(Now we never, now we never)
You're reckless, you're heaven sent
Burn the world to ashes then repent
Now it feels like some sort of catholic confessional

You built an evil empire, secret from the start
Wish I could have been there, fingers touching in the dark
Stepping back, wrong side of the tracks
Who will be the victim when your heart attacks

And I'm getting anxious thinking about the love we never had
And now we never will
(Now we never, now we never)
You're reckless, you're heaven sent
Burn the world to ashes then repent
Now I'm feeling like some sort of catholic confessional

What about our future
What about our past
We both had good intentions
But we both know those never last
Like silhouettes behind a screen door

I'm getting anxious thinking about the love we never had
And now we never will
(Now we never, now we never)
You're reckless, you're heaven sent
Burn the world to ashes then repent
Now I'm feeling like some sort of catholic confessional
Now it’s feeling like some sort of catholic confessional
Like some kind of silhouette behind a screen door
